| Body suits | Traditional body suits are basically made the same way as prosthetic appliances, only on a larger scale. However, two of our body suits shown here, were made quite differently. | The Godzilla-type creature was made by borrowing the techniques the Japanese developed for their monster epics. There were no sculptures or molds involved in the process, only a direct construction with diverse materials glued together. The method was accurate to the point of fixing gardening gloves and rubber boots inside the costume. | The STEELY JOE suit (a cowboy-style, Victorian era steam-powered robot) uses more techniques found in auto-body shops than straight FX work. We made models from which silicone molds were produced. Each part was then laminated in Fiberglass for sturdiness and lightness, colored and assembled into an amazingly comfortable and mobile unit. | |
